Nesting lite

I think a bit of the nesting bug has started to hit me. Yesterday I finally took all of Terrell's toys out of his room and put them in the computer/ playroom he will now have. I am making room for Jayden's stuff to go in the bedroom. I need to get the crib up and put together but I am trying to wait and see if we get one at the shower. The bassinet is ready to go, the swing, carseat and stroller are ready too. I need to get the carseat base put in the van and give the stroller a good wash. I am waiting for the warmer weather before I wash the stroller outside with the hose. I do still need to have Tony get the dresser and put it together. I need to figure out where in the hell it is going to go too. I have baby clothes that need to be washed as well. I feel like I am getting so close to him being here. I can not wait. Here is a couple of pictures of the new playroom and Terrell with the bassinet.

27 week appointment & Update

Sorry I did not update yesterday. Doctor said right now everything is good. I have gained no weight since my last appointment. Blood pressure was fine. He did pull me from work until Sunday. He wants me to rest and try to get over this cold/flu I have going on. We are upping the heparin to 7500 units 2x a day. Great now with even more bloody noses. Other than that I was told to take it easy and to go back to the hospital if I start having contractions again.

L&D Trip

Last night while at work I started having contractions. At first I thought they were BH ones and was not worried. Then they were coming more regularly and starting to hurt. I tried drinking water and changing positions but it was not helping. After about 1 hour I decided to call the doctor. I was trying very hard not to freak out but it was not working to well. I could not get a hold of anyone. My sister, Susan and Tony all were not answering the phone. The hotel which usually has a few people roaming about was empty. Finally I get Kristin on the phone and she is on her way back to the hotel. I was about to call Lisa when she walked in the door. I was in tears when I saw her. She went with me to the hospital and Kristin stayed at the hotel to cover the desk until my boss got there. Thank god for them. Finally got a hold of my DH and he asked me if this was an emergency. Ummm 27 weeks pregnant and having contractions? Yeah I think it is an emergency. He stayed home with T and Susan met me at the hospital. I am glad because he would have driven me crazy. Anyway got to the hospital and they put me on the monitor and started me drinking lots of water. The nurse said she was pretty sure I was dehydrated. It was drink alot of get the IV, so drink I did. They also did a FFn test, and internal exam and a ultrasound. The FFn came back negative so that was good. The internal was weird I am open a bit at the bottom but appear closed at the top. The nurses also thought I had a cyst on my cervix. I will have to ask my doctor what that is all about. The ultrasound of my cervix was good but she did not do a trans vaginal ultrasound so I will be asking about that too. Susan wanted to see Jayden's boy parts but the ultrasound tech could not show her because he had his winky in his hand the whole time. That's my boy! After a few hours they sent me home with strict warning to rest and drink more fluids. I am seeing my doctor this afternoon and will update when I know more. Oh yeah for got to mention that my blood pressure was sky high for the first 3 readings. I really was freaked out.

Name

Well after many months and many arguments we named the baby. Yesterday his name was Shaun, Today and from this day forward his name is Jayden Thomas. I love it and have loved it for months and finally decided if we like it then it does not matter who else has that name. SO everyone in 88 short days we will be welcoming Jayden Thomas into our family.

A Scare

This morning when I woke up the baby was still asleep. Now this is unusual because normally he wakes me up because my full bladder is bothering him. Not today, it crossed my mind for a second that he should be moving but I let it go. I ate breakfast and still nothing, took a shower and started to quietly freak out. I was praying in the shower come on baby move, I need to know you are ok in there. Still nothing, got out and told Tony who said he was probably just sleeping and to not worry so much. At this point I was ready to call the doctor but figured ok I will try something else. Ate 1 marshmellow peep and practically begged the baby to move. We left the house to go to Walmart and finally when we were in the car he kicked me. I have never felt such joy over being kicked before. This kid is totally grounded when he is born though.

We also went to Babies R Us today to get the coming home from the hospital outfit. Tony picked it out. It is a overall shorts outfit. Tan in color with a little saiboat on it. It is very cute and I will make sure to bundle him up really good with a blanket in case it is still cold out. I bought an outfit for him too but I am sure he will be coming home in the one daddy picked.

25 week appointment

All is well in baby land. I gained 4 pounds this month for a total now of 13 pounds so far. I thought I had gained 1 pound more but hey at a time like this I will take a loss in weight anyway I can get it. Baby heart rate was 150 and he was kicking the doppler. I have my GD test today and should know the results tomorrow hopefully. Pray I pass, there is no way I can do that 3 hour test. Now I start going to the doctor every two weeks. He wants to keep a better check on me since I am high risk. Heparin gets upped at the next appointment too. Oh joy oh fun. Around 30 weeks I will start getting my NST (non stress tests) too. For those I have to go to the hospital, what a pain in the ass. He did say though I should be able to go after work, that will help but at 10:30 at night I am not going to want to go sit at the hospital for any length of time. Well I am off to take T to school and then sneak in a nap.

Moving

On Friday night Terrell got to feel his brother move for the first time. He was super excited and grinned from ear to ear. He said it felt like a speed bump.

Road map

The other morning I was laying in bed and Terrell was sitting with me. I had my shirt up and my pants below the baby bump. T was staring at my tummy very intently, and then he asked "mommy what are those lines on your tummy?" I chuckled a bit and said those are my stretch marks buddy. Ok so what are strech marks? Well when mommy has a baby in her tummy it keeps growing and growing and sometimes the skin gets pulled tight and strech marks happen. So those are from me, he asked? Yup baby they are. Oh sorry mommy. It was so cute.

He also heard me yesterday tell DH that the baby can hear some noise now so today he talked to his brother. "Hi little munchkin, I am Terrell your big brother. I can't wait for you to come out so I can tickle your little feet."

He is really too sweet when it comes to this baby. I signed him up for a sibling sucess class next month. It is pretty short only about an hour but it will give him a chance to see the maternity ward and labor and delivery before the baby gets here.

On baby name news, Tony has started really going through the name book so hopefully we will agree on a name soon.

Did I mention as of today only 100 days until baby?????

Doctor Appointment

Everything is great. The baby's heartbeat was at 153 BPM. I am measuring right on target, blood pressure is fine and no swelling or protein in my urine. I gain 5 pounds this month for a total weight gain of 10 pounds so far. I had the doctor test me for anemia today. I know it is going to come back positive because I am always anemic. But I feel like it is worse than before. Even the doctor thought I looked more pale than usual. I will know in a day or 2 how much iron supplementation I am going to need. Next appointment is in 1 month and after that we start every two weeks. Wow that seems like it is coming so fast. I got the nasty orange drink for my GD test next month as well. After the appointment T, Susan and I met my friend Tracey and her twins for lunch. Then the girls whispered between themselves to start planning my shower. I am sure they will both do a great job. I can not wait to have that party, even with the baby games. All in all it was a good day.

Names

I am starting to freak out a little bit. We have no name for this child. Jayden is out since I found that a stripper at the Foxy lady is using that name. I really don't like Justin either. It is driving me crazy!!!! Why is this so freaking hard?

Nothing

I got nothing at all. I am feeling the baby a little bit more now. They feel like little bumps inside me. Getting all the names and addresses together for the baby shower invites too. It seems at my baby shower we will be playing those baby games. You know the one were you can't say the word baby? Oh and baby bingo, doesn't that sound like fun? I am not into the whole game thing but I am going to play along. My BFF seems so excited about them and she says this is the only shower she is ever throwing so I am going to go with it. Only 69 days till my shower. I am excited!!!

Complaints

Every night now I have a ritual that must be followed if I hope to get any sleep. It starts with me putting Vaseline up my nose. Then I fill up the humidifier and get my pillows ready. I lay down ready to sleep and get almost there and then the tickle starts. It is just a little tickle in the back of my throat but damn that thing keeps me up. I cough I gag I pee myself a little. It is not a pretty sight at all. More often than not I wake Tony up too. It is an every night thing and it is driving me crazy. I have to have a bottle of water next to me all night because every time I wake up to pee my throat is so dry I can not stand it. Any thoughts or ideas on what else I can try to make it stop? I just want to be able to go to sleep like a normal person. The leg cramps are starting a bit now too but I can handle it, what I can not stand though is the round ligament pain. Is that shit really necessary? Oh yeah on a side note I think I just might have felt the baby move a bit last night, small flutter but it is a step in the right direction. Kick baby kick, mommy needs to feel you!

U/S pictures and dead people

First let me show you the awesome pictures we got at today's ultrasound. The tech was awesome and gave me a bunch. I had to get the boy parts picture for his baby book and to embarrass him later in life. We had a good long look at him today and everything looks good. I must admit though in the shower this morning I was convinced that they were going to tell me the baby was dead. In my head I was planning who to call and how I was going to remain calm for Terrells sake. I told the doctor this and she said it is much more common to have these feeling after IVF. Glad to know I am normal. The reason I was worried is because I still do not feel even the littlest movement with this baby. It is freaking me out already. If I have no movement within the next 2 weeks I am to tell my doctor and we will look into it futher. So there is my morning in a nutshell. T is still under the weather, but recovering. Oh yeah found a dead guy at the hotel last night. The story is here. I don't know alot right now but wow who would have thunk it?

½ way!

Today I am 19 weeks. If a normal pregnancy is 40 weeks that makes me at the half way point now. I have scheduled my c section for May 23 a day before 39 weeks, provided this baby doesn't exit early like his brother. Tony told me today that he had a dream about the baby. He dreamed we went to the doctor and something was wrong with him. I told him welcome to my world, I worry on a daily basis. While I hate hearing that he is dreaming about something bad happening it is nice to know he is thinking and worrying and wondering too. So much of the time I feel like I am alone in this whole pregnancy thing.

Amnio

The amnio went really well. We were there forever but other than that it was good. They had to stick me twice because the could not get a good angle to get the fluid the first time. It did not hurt but was uncomfortable. The first stick into the uterus felt like someone had hit my funny bone. The second time was a bit more painful but still nothing I could not handle. I should have the results next week sometime. Baby would not show the sex this time so I am waiting for the amnio results before I buy anything blue. I have my regular OB appointment today and then the MFM(maternal fetal medicine) doctor wants to see me in two weeks for another ultrasound because they were not able to see everything they needed too this time. Things like lips, fingers, toes etc. Although Tony and I both saw fingers waving at us. After the amnio I was pretty crampy and came home and laid around all night Monday and all day yesterday. Happy new year to us all.

I did it

I finally bought something and brought it into the house! WOOHOO for me, I got him a little onesie from target that says Mommy and Daddy's alarm clock. I feel like I have passed a big milestone in this pregnancy. I have actual baby stuff in my house, for this baby, amazing. Thank you all for your baby name ideas keep them coming. Brady seems to be one that keeps coming up. While I love that name it does not flow well with our last name of B____. Too bad cause it is a good one. Yesterday I was out for most of the day and bought some new clothes for myself. I only got 1 pair of maternity pants and a shirt at Sears. They had a really crappy selection for plus size moms. Even what I did get I am not totally in love with it. I then went to Lane Bryant and got 2 pairs of stretchy yoga type pants. They are so comfortable and I am pretty sure will see me through this pregnancy. Got a few tops too. Sometimes being fat is a good thing. I am so happy baby doll type shirts are in style they make awesome maternity tops. Bought a few books too. One is called Pregnancy sucks, it is really cute so far. I got t some books on being a big brother and being in mommy's tummy. Got a baby name book too. So with you all helping and the book I am sure this baby will have a name by the time he is born.

Not

Well baby was not very cooperative today and the amnio was not done. They could not get a safe pocket of fluid. I was however able to find out that Terrell is going to be a big brother to a little brother. Yup we are once again having a boy!!! I am very happy about this as I felt it was a boy for a bit now. I am most likely going into Boston to New England Medical Center sometime next week for a amnio with the maternal fetal specialist. I will know more later today.
