House Update

So as you all know we put in an offer on the house. It was excepted and a few days later we had our home inspection. All looked good so on to the purchase and sale agreement. This is where we hit a snag. We agreed to extend the closing by 30 to 60 days. We even agreed to pay to extend our beautiful wonderful 4.0% rate. Well all I wanted was for this lady to agree to pay to extend it beyond the first 30 days. She did not want to budge. It took a pouty update on my facebook, a call from my awesome realtor and him talking me off the edge to calm me down. He called her realtor and basically said look she needs to give a little or my buyers are gonna walk away. 10 minutes later he gets a call back that she will pay for the second extension. Yeah bitch I thought so. So P&S is signed and it looks like we will be home owners in the next few months. I am scared and joyful at the same time. My mind is moving a thousand miles a minute trying to figure out what to do with our furniture etc once we move in. I have re landscaped the front of the house in my mind as well as completely redone the kitchen. I can not fall asleep sometimes because I am worrying about T making friends at school, J falling down the stairs. How I am going to gate everything off. Ugh, I guess it is a good problem to have though huh? Anyone want to help me back up an apartment we have lived in for over 10 years?

I'm so excited for you! I love moving to a new place, fixing it up, arranging your furniture, all that. Even the packing I don't mind because you have a chance to clean and purge.

Wow, you have a lot going on! I wish I could send my sister to help you organize and pack, she is a whiz at it! :-) I'm sure she would love me volunteering her :-)

Thanks for stopping by my IF blog today (project progeny) - I was looking at your archives and realized that your Jayden is the same age as my Valerie (yes, what a great name, huh?) :-) I hope everyone feels better soon!

Good times Valerie, good times!
Just take it in baby steps and "try" not to get overwhelmed!

I moved to my house 3 years ago after being in my apartment for 8 years.
As for the stairway: My advice (having a 2 story house as well) is to buy your gates at the pet store, the kind that mount to the wall and can be opened/shut to walk thru. They are sturdier than the baby gates they sell that are pressure mounted and have to be taken down or climbed over.
Best of luck with the new place, you'll love having your own home.
