House hunting

So we are looking for a house. Nothing fancy just a single family 3 bedroom with 2 car off street parking and a yard for T. Sounds easy right? Naa everything we can afford is either a shithole and needs way to much work or one of us likes it but the other doesn't. I know we haven't been looking long but I really thought this would be alot more fun than it is. We decided to take this weekend off from looking because we are tired and drained. We have both been working insanely long hours and need a day to not rush out of the house. I am not to happy with our realtor right now either. The last 2 Sundays in a row we have seen 1 or 2 house only. He seems to have a problem finding us stuff to see. We are looking too but so far the only houses he has shown us have been the ones that I have said Yes I want to see it. Isn't he supposed to come out with house ideas too? Seems I need to look for another realtor as well. Any advice on finding a good one?

Hi! I'm here via Michele

We found ours after 4 weekends of driving around the neighborhood we wanted to live in and looking for sale signs. Go to Starbucks, buckle up and enjoy! Good luck to you.

Stopping by to say hello....

As Kim said, drive aroudn neighbourhoods you like. Also, check the MLS listings, and go to many open houses, at the open houses ask the sellers agent if they know of homes in the price range you are seeking. Many agents would be happy to help you find a wonderful new home that is in your budget. Yes, there are some less-than-wonderful realtors BUT there are some great ones aslo. Good luck.

Now, I must blogroll you!

Maybe you should consider staying where you are for a while. Pretend like you have a mortgage and are paying more per month on your house and put that extra money up in the bank. You could have a bigger down payment and that might make your choices of house bigger. Just a thought. Don't worry, the right house will come along.
