Heart matters
It is so amazing how close you can become to someone in the matter of less than a year. My sister and I were apart for a very long time. I only got back in contact with her last December 19th. I googled her and somehow managed to find her email address. It is incredible how technology can help. Anyway since we have been back in contact I have been to visit once and we talk on the phone a lot! Thank god I have unlimited long distance. She is my little sister but I swear sometimes it feels like she is older. Maybe it is because she has been married longer and has more kids, or maybe it is because she is an old soul. She is such a caring and loving person. She was able to forgive our Stepmom and our Dad for the abuse we received growing up, something I am trying very hard to do as well. In that respect she has helped me because she was around them more and knows that they have changed for the better. She is helping me heal and giving me that feeling of family that I longed to have for many years. It is nuts when I don’t talk to her I feel like part of me is missing. Does that make sense? When we were growing up we fought amongst ourselves alot and dealt with the crap that was handed to us. I left when she was young so we never really got to bond like normal sisters. I am so very glad we have that chance now. She has truly become a rock for me and I love her dearly. I am so glad I had the courage last year to send that email, look at all I got in return.

How wonderful for both of you that you're back in touch. I don't know what I would do without my sisters.
Michele sent me this morning.
Awwww that is sweet, but what do you mean we fought among ourselves? as I remember it, you beat me up a lot. I am glad you came around again. I know it has helped Dads heart and I feel better knowing that I have family I can rely on. You turned out to be a pretty awesome person and a great mom.
What a heartwarming story. I'm so glad you reconnected with her. I hope other estranged siblings read this and are encouraged to do the same.
Good for you both!
What a wonderful post, especially during the holiday season, when the importance of family really tends to hit home. I'm so glad for both of you that you have reconnected.
On another note, I just realized that you and Zephra are sisters! Cool! I like both of your blogs! :)
Your Christmas tree is delightful. My kids have small trees in their rooms as well, something I started many years ago and they love as much as I do.
It is nice to read that you have found a way to have your sister back in your life. My sister and I get along much better with distance between us.
Thank you for visiting my place. I am adding you to my favorites. Happy Holidays.
